Fuck yesterday's euphoria - today SUCKS.
Could anything at work PLEASE GO RIGHT?
I'd like to get to eat lunch eventually. I'd like to get out of here at some point. I had hoped 5:30 so that Casey and I can get to Fort Worth at a decent time.
No, that can't happen. Today is a loss. The check signer leaves at 2, that would be about 1/2 an hour from now, and I cannot post an invoice, and I cannot get a check to print. WHOSE FAULT IS THIS? I WILL KICK THEM IN THE SHINS! WITH STEEL TOED BOOTS!

WTF?
Most days that I get to work early or on time move along just swimmingly. I get so much done! Today is off. It's broken. Shit is backwards. Is that enough emphasis?
I got to work on time! Woo-hoo!
Wendy's gave me no cream for my coffee, and I only drink coffee with a lot of cream.
One of the receptionist called in sick. Guess which one? This means I am working until 9 tonight. At least I'll have some extra over time.
Turns out, the other receptionist was having battery problems. Welcome to a world of car-dealership hurt, and office chaos. It's 8:15, and our reports are due at 10:00. Since we're all scrambling to get the phones covered...
Once that is all worked out we enter the last of the necessary items into the system and run "End of Day" so that they are "finalized" and show up on the report, and all the computer does is show us that good 'ole turning hour glass. For five minutes. This normally doesn't even take five seconds.
Okay, now it's 9:40 and End of Day is done and we're all scrambling to finish our shit.
After the 10 o'clock meeting we find out that our check signer is leaving at noon. This means I have two hour two organize 20 checks. I had planned to go to lunch at 11, but..
I finish right before noon, and I'm trying to get the heck out because I need to go to the bank, but I have a friend who's getting his oil changed, so I chat for a second with him and his daughters.
When I get out to my truck I realize I'd locked my keys in it this morning.
Despite how incredibly wrong today is, I'm not too pissed off about it. It must have something to do the amount of super incredible sleep I got last night. I sigh just thinking of it..

Things I have been up to:
I walked across the stage and hummed "Pomp & Circumstance." Photos to follow.
I read The #1 Ladies Detective Agency, by Alexander McCall Smith, and loved it. I am now trying to pass it off onto family members, assuring each that they will feel the same way.
I got a promotion at work! I am leaving the phones! I no longer have a permanent shift at the restaurant! My feet thank me!
I am listening to Tears of the Giraffe, also by Alexander McCall Smith, on the front desk computer at work. It is the sequel to The #1 Ladies Detective Agency. I am trying to make my way towards The Kalahari Typing School for Men, the fourth in the series.
I am ALSO listening to Wuthering Heights, by Emily Brontë, on the other computer I use at work. I chose this because I never have to answer a phone, so I don't get interrupted and I have no problem focusing on what is going on in the story.
I have been packing! Moving in just about a week.
I watched The Science of Sleep, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and finally Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest .

I am scatter-brained most of the time. My room is moderately clean; meaning that all of the clothes on surfaces are folded and clean, but not put away. There are at least 4 pairs of shoes in my truck, along with parts of any one of the outfits I've worn the past two weeks. I get up in the morning, dress for school, work, or the farm, and make sure to grab other clothes that I can wear to my other job, and sometimes some for the next day, both jobs, school a mix - whatever. I am a mess.
Today I had to go to both jobs, so I wore jeans, sneakers, and a tank top I can wear under a cardigan to my first job, and grabbed my work shirt, a belt and a pair of heels for my evening job.
I got to job #1 and worked until 2:30. I had lunch and went to Goodwill to do some bargain shopping. I found an extremely cute ladies blazer in brown corduroy, a red silk shirt, a red and black pin-striped skirt, and a black and white hounds-tooth skirt. AWESOME shop.
Job #2 is right around the corner, I got there about half an hour early and went to grab my cardigan, heels, and skirt to change into. But, Oh! what's this? Where is my cardigan? Not in my truck. Why do I have one heel and one of my flats? Because I'm an idiot. I can't wear sneakers or flip-flops in to work....
Behind the seat of my truck is a pair of peek-a-boo heels. Sweet. I can't wear a tank top to work, my bra straps are showing. Thank God for Goodwill. I normally prefer to take my clothes home and wash them after I buy them. After all, who wore this last? Yeah, I don't know either. I'm desperate though, and my red silk shirt looks great. I had been feeling guilty about spending money, now I think of it as a stupid tax.
