On the other side of the age thing, about a month ago I experienced a plethora of "are you old enough to buy this?" moments. People question the fact that I am old enough to vote. One guy even said, "What are you, fifteen?" Another said, "Take it as a compliment!" as if I had scoffed or scowled at him for carding me.
When I WAS underage people always thought I was older. There is no way I'm getting younger, so to me these questions only imply that I am disheveled enough to look as if I haven't figured out how to look like a grown up yet. Take that as a compliment.
