Tips for people making hotel reservations:
If you ever have to stay in a large hotel for more than one night, and you might not make it there until later in the evening, do yourself, and the person who works front desk at night a favor and call two days before you are to arrive and ask them to assigning your room, and then ask for the room number and that it not be unassigned. I spent an extra 2 hours doing crap tonight because the people here who booked the reservations for guest overlapped stays, so that four people have to get up today, repack and move to another room. Meanwhile, I had to try and keep track of all of the junk I was changing and make sure it was clear enough for other people to change it back today.
If you do not have a chance to have someone assigning you a room ahead of time (by the way, a reservation only says you have a spot. It does not say which one, or that it is even that king bed non-smoking room you requested)don't take it out n the person at the desk-- especially if it is late at night. We here in the hospitality business understand your tired, and chances are you've been traveling all day. Most likely there was a delay you had to suffer through. We are tired too. We also have no control over what anyone did during the day, and we have to work with what rooms we have. Do not get mad at us, it is out of our hands. Talk to the people who work during the day. Getting mad at us is like getting mad at your waiter when the food was cooked incorrectly- you should be dealing with the kitchen.
I'm so mad, I had so much I needed to do tonight, and now it's almost 6am, and this is all I can do because it doesn't take the amount of concentration that studying for finals does.
