It is official. Both of my parents are sterile now. My mom has been for a long time. My dad has been for... 12 hours.

After discovering signs of prostate cancer about two months ago, the thing came out today. All else was left in tact, and there was no sign of it spreading, so all seems well. My dad was in an incredible amount of pain though, even with morphine. Apparently, the operation is more painful the younger you are, and my dad isn’t quite 50 yet. The pain didn’t start to wane until about 9:30, when he finally started sleeping well. He woke up a couple of times to say absolutely hilarious stuff, or fall asleep mid sentence, if I could understand him at all.

I am glad that it went well, and that he is starting to hurt less. I am extremely glad that it didn’t spread. I love my dad.
