This is it, for now.

One last thing to post about before I actually start working at work. About a month ago I found out that my dad has prostate cancer. I didn't write about it then because I wanted to ask him how he felt about me writing about it, and wanted to know more about it before I publicly reacted.

He is okay with me letting the world know about his cancer, and I am learning a little bit more about what it expect each time I talk to him. His cancer was caught VERY early, so he has no symptoms yet, but he is going in to have his prostate removed April 3rd. You will probably hear the most about him in the week after, since I will be spending some time caring for him then.
From what I hear it is going to be rough. I love you, Dad. Hang in there and I'll see if I can get Andy (my maternal grandmother, for the rest of you) to make you some enchiladas. I bet she will.

Best of luck and good wishes to you both. My uncle had a similar situation and after his operation he was just fine-- he was much older than your dad, too, I think, and it's been years and he's very healthy.

Thank heavens they caught it early! I hope that everything goes smoothly with his operation.

(You'll probably always worry about him now, even after he's cured from it. My mom has been cancer-free for about 2.5 years now, and I'm still afraid.)

My Granddad was diagnosed with prostate cancer 3 years ago. He caught it early, got treatments and is still kicking at 74. I will keep your Dad in my thoughts but I'm not too worried, he's a tough guy.

But gosh, surgery always sucks. Lemme know if there's anything I can do to help out.

I'm glad your Dad and his doctor are taking it seriously and taking aggressive steps.
