Yuck - Saturday
Thank you, NPR, for teaching me about:
and the books Animals of the Ocean, in Particular the Giant Squid (You must scroll down a bit, but the whole list is interesting),
By Doris Haggis-on-Whey and Benny Haggis-on-Whey,
and Sister Bernadette's Barking Dog: The Quirky History and Lost Art of Diagramming Sentences, by Kitty Burns Florey
And then by way of Internet diversion - English as She Is Spoke: Being a Comprehensive Phrasebook of the English Language, Written by Men to Whom English was Entirely Unknown , by José da Fonseca, Pedro Carolino, Paul Collins (Editor)

My friend has "English as she is spoke" and it has made me laugh so hard that I can't breathe. Off the top of my head, under the vocab listing "Some fishes" is to be found "a wolf"-- the phrases and scenarios are breathtaking. --E
